Outdoors in the Gorge

pastel sketch 9 x 12
I returned yesterday afternoon from an exhilerating few days of camp and paint in the Columbia River Gorge. While sunshine usually dominates this time of year, we had a downpour on Tuesday night and I was glad I had a warm van to sleep in. Never go camping in the Northwest without rain gear and sweats. This sketch was completed on location at the Hood River Windsurfer Park sitting in the back of my van to help protect me from those world famous nuclear winds.
